The fuel cap housing was machined to fit the cutoff switch and glued in place.<\/p>\n<p>The switch itself is located where the left side fuel tanks used to be.<\/p>\n<p>Two pigtails are required to engage the switch. One enters the trunk side wall from the battery&#8217;s negative terminal and the other returns to another point on the side wall grounded to the chassis (the battery is located in the trunk). <\/p>\n<p>A bulkhead pass-through insures that the incoming cable from the battery&#8217;s negative terminal is <em>not<\/em> grounded to the chassis until <em>after<\/em> it passes through the switch.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3190\" style=\"width: 1210px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/krissmotors.com\/XJ6\/wp-content\/uploads\/pigtail.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3190\" src=\"https:\/\/krissmotors.com\/XJ6\/wp-content\/uploads\/pigtail.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"424\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3190\" srcset=\"https:\/\/krissmotors.com\/XJ6\/wp-content\/uploads\/pigtail.png 1200w, https:\/\/krissmotors.com\/XJ6\/wp-content\/uploads\/pigtail-330x117.png 330w, https:\/\/krissmotors.com\/XJ6\/wp-content\/uploads\/pigtail-768x271.png 768w, https:\/\/krissmotors.com\/XJ6\/wp-content\/uploads\/pigtail-1024x362.png 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3190\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Switch 1\/0 AWG cable pigtail with protective end caps<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Because the battery has been relocated to the trunk, the distance to the starter is now about 10 feet, and this requires a 1\/0 AWG cable to insure sufficient current capacity.
